“The Blind Side” author Michael Lewis has spoken out about the ongoing dispute between former NFL player Michael Oher and the Tuohy family, who were portrayed as his adoptive parents in the book and subsequent film. Oher recently filed a lawsuit claiming that he was never adopted by the Tuohys, but rather placed under their conservatorship, and that he received no money from the movie. Lewis stated that neither he nor anyone else involved in the book saw millions of dollars from the film’s box office success. He also revealed that while he and the Tuohys each received around $350,000 from movie profits, Oher declined his royalty checks which were then put into a trust for his son.
