A group of 12-year-olds from Northeast Seattle will be the first team from the city to play in the Little League World Series. The team earned their spot after a walk-off home run by Matthew Fisher sent them to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the tournament. Despite being over 2,600 miles away from home, the players are enjoying their time and have even made friends with some of their competitors. The team’s head coach, Christian Shewey, expressed pride in his son and his team’s achievements and hopes that this is just the beginning for Northeast Seattle teams in future tournaments.
