Northwestern interim coach David Braun is implementing a “very calculated” approach to off-field team activities in response to hazing allegations within the program. Mandatory anti-hazing training was conducted for coaches and players before practices began on August 3. The team is now starting daily meetings with competitions between position groups, including basketball shooting and video games, and team meals are being given greater significance. Northwestern fired longtime coach Pat Fitzgerald on July 10 following an investigation into the hazing allegations. Braun, who was named interim coach on July 13, said he is open to scheduling additional team-building events as time allows.
