Vlatko Andonovski will not return as the head coach of the United States women’s national team, according to anonymous sources. His resignation was a mutual decision and an official announcement is expected soon. Andonovski managed the team for four years, during which they experienced their worst World Cup finish in history when they were eliminated by Sweden in the round of 16. This followed a disappointing third-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics. Despite being well-liked and respected by players and staff, concerns about his tactics and strategy arose during the World Cup. The U.S. Soccer Federation will now begin searching for his replacement.
